More Summer Fun

Well how much do you LOVE this new addition to the family? Molly added an amazing classic car to her stable. :) Sorry, I paused...wiping drool off of the keyboard. If you like this picture, check out the next. Sigh...

Yep. You should hear her purrr....the car that is. LOL But I am sure Molly can purr too. :)

This picture was taken looking south from Mom & Dad's backyard. The colors were bursting right before your eyes. Glorious.

This picture was taken looking towards the west from the front yard. Breathless was I.

A sunset that I hope to remember for a long time. It was so vivid and looked just like fire.

As I drove down the road and passed brother Greg's homestead, I see lots of folks out in the pasture watching a calf being born. Awwww....I am glad it was her and not me. :)

Back in Colden, I offered Peter my camera and he told me to stop while crossing the road. He wanted to catch our shadows!

This spring and summer we have had many blue birds. This blue bird house has hosted two families of little ones so far. I think blue birds are so beautiful. The blue on the male birds is so striking.

Summer Projects I

When it comes to the old fashioned barn raising...here you go. Sarah and Mike's new home needed the old roof removed and a new from scratch was placed. Family and friends helped out with the project. Including Cody, Mike's dad John, Keith and Mike.

Jim was the director (yep, that is a good word), and he even created/made/designed roof scrapers with T-handles that made the job much easier on the hands. In this picture is Mike, Nick, Jim and Sarah. She didn't need to go to the gym the days she worked on the roof. :) We call this the "Jim Membership"

Back at home in the wood shop Jim has designed a book/toy shelf for all of Peter's STUFF. Beautiful cherry wood was picked for this heirloom.

We decided to go for a walk and scout out any trees that might have fallen so we can report back to Papa Jim. Peter found a spot to linger and enjoy the sunshine.

The clouds have been just amazing as of late. Each time I take notice they are more beautiful. Colors can only be captured in the mind but my camera can offer you an idea.

Visiting Up North (Niagara County)

Molly has a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. This baby needed special care until she was able to be released with the others. Molly has a heart of gold and all the animals know it, so she is just the gal to tend to this little one.

Oh my goodness, have you ever seen a funnier smile? I think NOT. Every time I look at this picture it makes me chuckle, I hope you like it too.

"I'm the King of the mountain...." What else can I say?

Matt & Molly have this place where lambs and goats wander around and call home. We call it Goat World. Life looks pretty good for these animals.

Flowers and Bulldozers....

A new metal roof for the wood shop!

All the bulbs that we planted came to life this spring and it was a joy to see on the back patio!

Just a little bit of wood for the fall...Jim's idea of relaxing. :)

Daisy the Dozer even got a "nose" job this spring. Another one of Jim's many ideas, he never stops. I think Tim Allen would be proud!

Spring on the Hill...

We love Sunday mornings! Jim and Peter cook up a batch of pancakes, yummy!

Peter can actually tell when they are ready to flip over, waiting for the right kind of bubbles.

Papa Jim had a job for Peter out in his wood shop and it took a lesson in using a protractor.

Many times I offer Peter the camera to take pictures and this one he took of the sunset on our ride to take him back home. Yep, it is snow on the ground...that is just so we don't forget what winter is like. LOL

Looks like a lesson in making old fashioned popcorn. Amanda and Jan can find laughter in every corner...

Bras everywhere! My dear friend Roxanne hosted a morning brunch and bra decorating event to help out the Mother's Day Breast Cancer "Mammary Mile", the link below will tell more information. We had great fun decorating the bras and celebrating friendship!

Polar Bear Swim, Olcott Beach 3/7/2010

A Spring event that the locals have enjoyed for 41 years! My brother Mike and our daughter Amanda decided late one evening that they should participate in the fun. Hmmmm...No, thanks.

2010 Polar Bear Swim for Sight hosted by the Olcott Lions Club. I am guessing there may be courage in his flask? LOL

Now this is a sight to behold. Amanda and Mike walking home from the Burt Hotel after the swim...I am not sure who is holding who up? LOL

Warm up drinks at the famous Burt Hotel. They look happy don't they?

THEY DID IT! The weather was a big plus but the water was still too cold for my blood, a bold chilly 37 degrees.

Courage comes in pairs! I think they are actually holding on tight so one of them wouldn't chicken out...lol.

Sarah & Mike's Wedding!

Sarah was presented with a gold locket from Peter & Mike to celebrate the big day!

Sarah & Mike lighting the unity candle. The funniest thing happened...Mom walked me down the isle as Jim & Papa Pete were to escort Sarah as fathers of the bride. Well, I was so busy trying to be ON TIME that we were actually too early. As we started to light one of the side candles...Sarah's friend, Vicki screamed "not yet!" WHO could have guessed a Ketch was early for anything? So, Mom & I walked back and I told everyone "pretend we were never here" LOL A few minutes later, we had the right song/timing. :)

Mom, Dad & Madeleine. Poor Madeleine got an upset stomach and needed a comfy lap from Papa Pete.

Myself (yes, I do show up now and then in front of the camera), Sarah, Mike and Jim. Notice the suit on Jim....I told him NO carharts! :)

Janice & Madeleine enjoying a dance. :) Lovely, Lovely girls.

The magical winter wonderland. What a GREAT place to celebrate LOVE.

The entire Bridal Party!!

Sarah & Mike did a small cake with complimentary cupcakes! They were awesome. The cake topper was made by yours truly. Sarah with her clinical outfit (nursing student) and Mike with his mug of coffee, work badge and his famous scruffy face.

I will add a few more pictures when we get the professional ones back. Enjoy. It was a wonderful and loving memory for sure.
