Can we beat the SNOW?

Playing in the MUD.

The panel starts coming together.

The sun shows up to offer approval.

Solar Energy here we come!

More prep work.

and the work continues...

Almost ready for the big pour.

The concrete pump truck has arrived.

This is what some may call "another big boy's toy"...just sayin'

This thing moves around by remote control!  I am guessing he has a few remote control cars in his past.  :)

The pour is ON!

Jim is right there in the thick of things, of course.

21 holes to fill.

Stakes are removed and grooming done.  Now, we just let the concrete cure and then the panels are going up next week.

The solar energy project continues...

The drill truck arrived and got stuck.  :(

We love this Colden MUD, not.

So, Daisy the Dozer comes across the road to the rescue.

Daisy in action.

Of course, Jim wants rebar added to the holes.  Jim made 21 of these cages.   You got to love those structural engineers.  Ok, you don't but I have to.  LOL.  One of the workers putting them in place.

Daisy waiting to show off again.

And another hole...

 More preparation, to be continued.

Fall on the hill...

Daisy the Dozer helping Jim bringing some logs from the woods.

Jim doing what he loves.

Just a few of the piles he brought out of the woods this fall.

Sally the Sawmill has some work coming her way.

Loving the clothes line.

The colors are wonderful this season.

The woods have an abundance of "cow feathers" aka milk weeds.

January in snapshots...

A quiet evening with Josh and Jim playing some chess.  I have heard that they used to play in the past and Josh has some magic to win the game.

I had several appointments the other day and Jim was in charge of Bella.  The weather has been so mild and lacking in cold temperatures and "that white stuff" that it is like spring outside with that wonderful rain and mud.  Bella had a blast and Jim had to give her a shower.   :)

It has been some time since I have updated the blog but I just HAD to include those beautiful grandsons, James & Peter.  We are so blessed.
Our household has changed a great deal since my last post.  Jim's sons, Josh & Jake have moved in with us and life has been unlike anything I could imagine.  Our journey has many ups & downs but we have found strength to recognize that love can get you through the most difficult days.

Finishing Fall projects on the Hill

Jim now has the ULTIMATE set up for making firewood.  You have Johnny Deere, Peggy the Processor and Katie Kubota all at his mercy.  :)

Check out this firewood pouring off the conveyor and ready to sit until next fall.

His new grapple that sort of looks like a part to a metal monster, like a transformer?  LOL

Katie Kubota works like a charm to keep things going smoothly.

After spending the day up north I came home to our first SNOW.  Uggg.  Hello Winter, welcome?

I got up bright and early to check out the chance for some Kodak moments.

Bella doesn't even seem to mind.  Can you see her there in the white snow cover?

The great news is that the SUN, wonderful SUN is out and helping to melt that darn white stuff.  :)

Brothers.  Yes, how blessed we are that we have 2 healthy, smiling, happy grandsons.  It is so delightful to watch James smile, coo and respond to Peter...and me too.  LOVE.
